Du solltest jetzt auf jeden Fall noch diese Weltanschauung definieren, die du der ganzen Szene (aber nicht jeder Band. Wo ist der unterschied?) zuordnest.
In den Lyrics ist von Gesellschaftskritik, über Selbstkritik, über realistische Weltbetrachtungen bis zu Reform- und Revolutionsgedanken wirklich alles vertreten.
Klar, es gibt Bands die nennen sich "I hate myself" und das wohl bekannteste Screamo- und Grindcore-Festival Deutschlands nennt sich "cry me a river", aber da ist offensichtlich auch sehr viel Ironie enthalten.

(we want some sweat on the top of your lips.) our lungs are the speakers and this fire is our excuse because i don't care about whatever happened to "born to rock 'n' roll" and if bragging where you've been makes you sleep easier, well lay your head down and stay there in your slumber. Und z.B. die häuig auftretenden Themen Gesellschaftsreflexion und -kritik werden meines erachtens zu Recht mit Hardcore in Verbindung gebracht. Wobei auch Black Flag ein Lied namens "Depression" hatten. Solche Themen wurden im Bereich HCPunk also nicht erst von den Rites of Spring erfunden.
