Perez Hilton claims it’s not true, but that’s the best confirmation we have at this time. If we hear an official denial, we’ll update the post.
Update: this is one report doing the rounds. Still sounds like a hoax, although the police officer named is real.

Update: The news report I found above turned out to be a hoax! It's not from the BBC at all! The poster made it look like a BBC News page, complete with the BBC News logo and layout. Ha ha. Fooled me, and thousands of others I'm sure. Lil Wayne is not dead after all! Argh!
