Udava, with the help of the 'Guru' of the gods and 'Vayu', the ruler of the winds, transported the idol to distant Kerala and installed it there. Since then this place is known as 'Guru-Vayu-ur'. It is also believed to have been known as the Temple of the Savior of Mankind during difficult times.
