Yes, she's a girl, but I don't agree with you. Why should a friendship between a boy and a girl be impossible? Yeah, in case they fall in love or something like that, it would be very difficult, but if not it's possible...I have a lot of good male friends, and we're just friends, so I don't see any problems, why it shouldn't work
(sorry, I'm not sure if my grammar is right ^^)

Ok, but we speak about Real Friends, not about simple friends. And if girl and boy are real friends, that's mean that one person fall in love in other and other don't suspect it.
(it seems to me that you grammar is more right than my)
