Log in to your Facebook account using your username and password.
Click on the downward-facing arrow in the top-right corner of the Facebook page. It will open a drop-down menu.
From the drop-down menu, select "Settings & Privacy" and then choose "Settings."
Note: If you're using the Facebook mobile app, you can find the settings by tapping the three horizontal lines (menu icon) in the bottom-right corner, scrolling down, and selecting "Settings & Privacy" and then "Settings."
In the left-hand menu, click on "Your Facebook Information."
On the Facebook mobile app, scroll down and tap "Account Ownership and Control" under the "Settings & Privacy" section.
On the "Your Facebook Information" page, you'll see the option "Deactivation and Deletion." Click on "View" next to it.
On the Facebook mobile app, tap "Account Ownership and Control," and then select "Deactivation and Deletion."
Choose the "Deactivate Account" option and click on "Continue to Account Deactivation."
On the Facebook mobile app, tap "Deactivate" and then "Continue to Account Deactivation."
You'll be prompted to provide a reason for deactivating your account. Select the appropriate reason from the list or choose "Other" if none of the provided options apply.
You'll also have the option to opt-out of receiving future emails from Facebook. If you wish to unsubscribe, uncheck the box.
To proceed with the deactivation, click on "Deactivate" or "Deactivate Now."
On the Facebook mobile app, tap "Deactivate" and then "Deactivate Now."
Facebook may show you some friends who will miss you. You can choose to either select friends you want to stay connected with or click "Skip" to continue with the deactivation process.
A confirmation message will appear, indicating that your account has been deactivated. It will also mention that your profile won't be visible to others on Facebook.
If you decide to reactivate your account in the future, you can simply log back in to Facebook using your previous username and password. Your account will be restored, and your data will be available again.
